Piperine(CAS 94-62-2) is an alkaloid found in the fruits and roots of black pepper.This black pepper extract is about 98% pure.It shows low solubility in water, but ethanol and other organic solvent are suitable for dissolving this substance.
Recent pharmacological studies have shown that piperine possess anticonvulsant and analgesic effect, piperine also has been used for epilepsy treatment.
